Home Instead Senior Care Interview Questions

The best candidates are those who are well prepared for their interview, so after you submit your Home Instead application practice some typical interview questions.

Why do you want to work with senior citizens?  Try to read up on the values of the company so that you can give an answer in line with that, but this answer will be personal to you so be honest about what you hope to bring to the role and what you hope to get out of it.

What are your biggest strengths?  Don’t be afraid to show off about your skills and accomplishments if you’re asked this, but always remember that every answer should be relevant to the career you want.  Be sure to relate everything back to the necessary competencies for the position.

How would the skills you gained from your previous jobs help in this role?  If you have previous experience in a similar role then obviously you have abilities you can directly transfer, but if you don’t then think through what attributes they’re looking for that you have already demonstrated in your past work experience.

What would you do if a client fell down?  You will be provided with all the necessary training but it’s important that you’re able to react quickly to potentially emergency situations and can think through problems logically.

What qualities do you think make the ideal caregiver?  Think about the kind of care that you would like to receive or you would want members of your family to receive and describe why you think these are particularly important.
