Receptionist: A receptionist must have excellent customer service skills. They must be able to give off a good impression, as they are the first face a patron sees when entering into the facility. They greet customers and provide them with whatever information they might need. A receptionist must answer calls and is responsible for scheduling clients with specialized staff to assist in proper regimen. They also help patrons sign up for the membership to the facility. They often will also help deal with unhappy customers. A receptionist does not need a specific level of education to obtain this position. Usually they only require some on the job training. Pay for a receptionist is around $9-$10 per hour.

Personal Trainer: A personal trainer is a member of the staff that will work with clients on an individual basis. They will help them with a personalized fitness plan, as well as often assisting in nutrition for their client. They often will work in both gym and self-employed settings. They will have specialized training in various types of exercises and knows which exercises provides their customer with the maximum results they are looking for. They can work with whatever your main concerns are and help you with improvement, as long as you follow their instructions. A personal trainer can also assist with physical rehabilitation. Floor manager: The floor manager is responsible for maintaining the facilities “floor”. They are in charge of ensuring that the equipment in their facility is up to date with their maintenance and is properly functioning. They also are in charge of managing the facility’s classes and other programs within their fitness area. The floor manager also trains the staff on the floor to the company’s standards. They are also in charge of hiring the other floor staff. They will also manage the deliveries of equipment for the facility. A floor manager can make around $16 an hour.

The growth in this industry is estimated to be about 13%. This is 2% higher than the national average in other fields. This can be seen as a result of the nation’s growing awareness of a necessity of exercise and a decrease in offering physical education in the school systems.
